Bio

Manolis Papadakis was born in Athens, Greece, in 1994. He received his Diploma in Rural and Surveying Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where he focused on GNSS techniques in his thesis “Evaluation of GNSS Kinematic Positioning Accuracy Using Free RTKLIB Software.” He then obtained a Master’s degree from the Technical University of Berlin (TUB), completing the thesis “Investigations Towards a Machine Learning Approach for Optimized GNSS Satellite Selection Using Supervised Learning.”

After his studies, he worked as a GNSS Research Engineer at Loctio, a start-up company in Athens, applying his knowledge to real-world problems such as snapshot positioning, error mitigation, and multi-constellation integration. He is now starting his PhD in the Signal Processing for Communications and Navigation group, focusing on advanced positioning techniques, error mitigation, and the evaluation of ionospheric and correction models.

Research interests

His research interests include GNSS positioning techniques, multi-frequency error mitigation, and the integration of advanced ionospheric and correction models into open-source software frameworks.
