Bio

Jordi Vilà-Valls was born in Ordis, Girona, Spain, in 1983. He received the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from both the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona, Spain, and the Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble INP), Grenoble, France, in 2006, under a double diploma program. In October 2006, he joined the GIPSA-Lab, Grenoble, France, as a Research Assistant with a French Ministry of Science Ph.D. grant. In 2009, he was a research visitor at the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC). He received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Grenoble INP in March 2010.

From October 2010 to September 2012, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Signal Processing and Communications group (SPCOM) of the Department of Signal Theory and Communications (TSC), UPC.

He was a Postdoctoral researcher at the SPCOMNAV group from October 2012 to October 2013.

 

Research interests

His primary areas of interest include statistical signal processing, Bayesian estimation theory, and adaptive/robust filtering methods, with applications to positioning and tracking systems, wireless sensor networks and communications.
