The California-Catalunya Engineering Innovation Program is an exciting collaboration jointly sponsored by the Generalitat de Catalunya, Pete Balsells, and the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at UCI. The sponsored project deals with receiver and signal processing aspects of integrated communication and positioning systems. It will be carried out together with Professor Lee Swindlehurst of the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at University of California at Irvine, and it involves the exchange of researchers between UAB and the University of Califonia.

The California-Catalunya Engineering Innovation Program explores new approaches to support and sustain innovations in the translation of research into results that benefit both California and Catalonia. The long-term goal of the program is to stimulate the transformation of knowledge created at the academic level into innovations that create new wealth and build strong local, regional and inter-related national economies. In this regards, the objectives of the program are fully in-line with the objectives of the Chair of Knowledge and Technology Transfer Parc de Recerca UAB - Santander, which is held by our group, resulting in a good synergy between both inniatives.
