Dr. Alexander Mitelman, from Cambridge Silicon Radio, will give the lecture titled: "GPS Power Levels In Real-World Environments". It will take place on May 25th, 2009, at room Q4-1013, from 15:00h to 19:00h.

The first part of the talk will be devoted to the fundamentals of GPS receivers characterization. In the second part, the reception of signals in harsh environments will be addressed. In particular, the design of an indoor propagation analysis system will be described, and live experiments will be carried out and show the actual spectral, fading and multipath environment in real time. In the last part of the lecture, some estimation problems in receiver or environment characterization will be presented.

Alexander Mitelman is GNSS Research Manager at Cambridge Silicon Radio, working in the office of Stockholm (Sweden). He earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. His research interests include signal quality monitoring, algorithm development for GNSS and software receivers.
