SPCOMNAV members Vicente Lucas and Daniel Egea received the HISDESAT prize for the best M.Sc. thesis and best Ph.D. thesis, respectively, dealing with governmental satellites services. The prizes were awarded by the Spanish Association of Telecommunication Engineers (COIT/AEIT) in a ceremony that took place on June 22, 2018, in Madrid.

Vicente Lucas received the award for the M.Sc. thesis entitled "End-to-end implementation and demonstration of a cloud GNSS receiver" while Daniel Egea for the Ph.D. entitled "Change detection techniques for GNSS signal level integrity".
